Their answer was bold: support the formation of a grassroots group that could directly serve Filipinos in need. Thus, EDV Community Group was born—an initiative inspired by the values of bayanihan, community care, and global solidarity.

With mentorship, encouragement, and financial support from the Surrey Filipino Canadian Society, EDV Community Group began organizing local efforts in the Philippines. These included:
