Hope in Action: Relief Distribution for Fire Victims in Las Piñas
July 29 (Tuesday), was a shining reminder of what community, compassion, and unity can accomplish. In the wake of a devastating fire that affected many families in Barangay Talon Uno, Chico St., the EDV Community Group, in collaboration with the Surrey Filipino Canadian Society of BC (SFCSBC), successfully carried out a heartfelt relief operation.
Held at the Base 3 Annex Covered Court in Las Piñas, the distribution was not only a response to physical needs—it was an expression of deep empathy, solidarity, and the unbreakable Filipino spirit. Cloth bags filled with essential goods were handed out to affected families, symbolizing care and comfort during one of the most difficult times of their lives.
This meaningful initiative would not have been possible without the unwavering support of generous donors and the dedication of our volunteers—both on the ground and behind the scenes. Their time, effort, and kindness brought hope where it was most needed.
To everyone who contributed, no matter how big or small, maraming salamat po. Your actions are proof that even amidst tragedy, bayanihan continues to be a guiding light—a powerful force that unites us and uplifts our communities.
Let us continue to move with compassion. Because together, we can rebuild lives and restore hope.
