Every August, we celebrate Buwan ng Wika — a month dedicated to honoring our national language and the rich tapestry of dialects that make the Philippines a nation of heart, history, and heritage.
But at EDV Community, Buwan ng Wika is not just about remembering our language, it’s about remembering who we are, and what our words say about us as a people.
Wika ay Kaluluwa ng Bayan
Our ancestors did not just fight with weapons; they fought with words. From the poems of Balagtas to the essays of Rizal, language has always been a tool of resistance, identity, and hope.
It connects us to our history, to one another, and to the generations to come.
Whether it’s Tagalog, Cebuano, Ilokano, Waray, Hiligaynon, Kapampangan, or any of the many beautiful tongues spoken across our islands, each word holds a story. Each sentence carries our soul.
EDV: Engaging Through Culture, Valuing our Roots
This month, EDV Community joins the nation in celebrating language as culture and culture as strength. We encourage everyone — especially the youth — to speak our native languages with pride, to read Filipino literature, to write poems, sing songs, or simply share family stories passed down through generations.
When we speak our language, we don’t just communicate. We honor the journey of our people.
Sa Panahon ng Pagbabago, Wika ang Tulay
In today’s fast-changing world, many are forgetting their roots. But we believe that language can be our bridge — connecting old and young, province and city, tradition and innovation.
Let us continue to engage our communities, develop our future, and value our culture by protecting the words that have shaped us.
Isang Paalala ng Puso
This Buwan ng Wika, may we not only speak Filipino, but also listen with compassion, write with meaning, and act with purpose. Because our language is not just a subject in school, it is a symbol of unity, dignity, and love for our country.
“Ang hindi marunong magmahal sa sariling wika, daig pa ang hayop at malansang isda.” – Jose Rizal
Mabuhay ang ating mga wika. Mabuhay ang kulturang Pilipino.
On June 12, 2025, we, as a nation and as a people, commemorate the 127th Philippine Independence Day. It’s more than a historical date — it’s a reminder of who we are, what we’ve overcome, and how far we’ve come together.
At EDV Community, this day fills our hearts with both pride and gratitude. It reminds us why we Engage with purpose, Develop with vision, and Value with compassion.
A Legacy Carved in Courage
127 years ago, our ancestors stood with unshakable faith and fought for a dream, a free Philippines. Their bravery, their sacrifices, their love for our people and land are the roots of the freedom we live in today.
This day is not only for them but for all of us who still believe in a better future — the teachers shaping young minds, the workers striving every day, the volunteers lending a hand, the families holding each other together. Each of us carries the spirit of our heroes in our own quiet, meaningful ways.
Freedom in Today’s Struggles and Service
Independence today looks different. It’s the choice to serve, to lift each other up, to give without expecting in return. It’s choosing to show kindness, to preserve our culture, to fight for what’s right especially for those who can’t fight for themselves.
Here at EDV, we see freedom in action every day, in every outreach, every smile shared, every effort made for those in need. It is a quiet revolution of love, unity, and hope.
A Call from the Heart
As we mark 127 years of independence, may we remember that the best way to honor our past is to live with purpose today. Let us teach our children where we come from. Let us hold space for each other’s dreams. Let us walk forward together and there should be no one left behind.
This Independence Day, let our hearts beat with the same hope that inspired a revolution. Let’s continue the work that our heroes began — with courage, compassion, and community.
Maligayang Ika-127 Araw ng Kalayaan! Mabuhay ang Pilipinas! Mabuhay tayong lahat!
